The origin story
freshpilot wasn't born in a product meeting. It was born out of necessity. When Frox launched their grocery e-commerce business in Bolzano, Italy, they came to Sarix for the technology — and we quickly discovered that no existing platform covered the full chain. Ordering tools didn't handle fulfillment. Delivery software didn't talk to inventory. Everything required manual glue to hold together.
So we built it from scratch. Not a prototype. Not a side project. A real platform to run a real business. The first order shipped in 2021, and every day since, Frox has used freshpilot to manage every aspect of their operation — catalog, orders, picking, inventory, delivery, customer communication.
Five years and 120,000+ orders later, the platform has been shaped by daily use. Every feature exists because the operation needed it. Every workflow has been refined through repetition. And the single most important proof point: the entire Frox operation is run by one employee. Not because the business is small — it processes €550K in annual revenue. Because the platform eliminates the manual work that would normally require a team.
Here's what's remarkable: even at €1–2 million in revenue, freshpilot wouldn't need more people on the admin side. One person can manage the catalog, process orders, run marketing campaigns, handle customer accounts, and oversee analytics — because the platform automates everything that doesn't require human hands. The only roles that grow with volume are the physical ones: picking, packing, and delivery. The digital backbone stays lean no matter how big the business gets.
